We are pleased to announce the arrival of a new railway locomotive at our terminal, an investment that further strengthens the equipment available to our intermodal center. The new locomotive weighs 67 tons, has 4 axles, and is equipped with a 1,200-horsepower, 12-cylinder Caterpillar engine.
This morning, Portogruaro Mayor Luigi Toffolo and Mobility and Transport Councillor Ketty Fogliani visited our terminal specifically for the arrival of the new vehicle, confirming the institutions’ focus on the growth of our Interport and the strategic role that the city of Portogruaro plays in trade to and from Europe. Mayor Toffolo emphasized how the new locomotive represents a further step in improving the service offered, commending President Corrado Donà, the management, and the entire team dedicated daily to ensuring high standards of efficiency.

The new vehicle will allow us to perform maneuvers more easily, especially with heavy trains, providing concrete benefits in terms of reduced processing times, increased safety, and a higher technological level applied to maneuvering, mapping, and traceability activities.
This investment confirms our ongoing commitment to enhancing infrastructure and equipment, to continue offering an increasingly efficient logistics service that keeps pace with the needs of the Northeast’s intermodal system.
